Busoga Kigdom announces grand celebrations for Kyabazinga’s 36th birthday
This prestigious gathering will bring together Kingdom officials, esteemed guests, and cultural dignitaries to honor the Kyabazinga’s leadership and contributions.
Busoga: The Busoga Kingdom has announced an exciting lineup of events to celebrate the 36th birthday of His Majesty, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, under the theme “Transforming Busoga through Sports and Culture.”
According to the Kingdom’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister, Owekitiibwa Haji Osman Ahmed Noor, these festivities will promote cultural pride and unity within the community.
The celebrations will start with a Royal Banquet on Saturday, December 14, at the Igenge Palace, beginning at 2:00 PM.
This prestigious gathering will bring together Kingdom officials, esteemed guests, and cultural dignitaries to honor the Kyabazinga’s leadership and contributions.
On Sunday, December 15, the Kyabazinga will connect with his people at a “Service to the Kingdom” event from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Busoga Kingdom Headquarters. This event is a gesture of his dedication to the well-being of his subjects and the unity of Busoga.
A highlight of the celebrations will be the MTN Busoga Masaza Cup Final, held at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe at 2:00 PM, where the Kingdom’s top chiefdom team will be crowned.
Following this final, Busoga United will face off against the Uganda Cranes in a friendly match at 4:00 PM. Gates will open at 9:00 AM, with tickets available at UGX 5,000 (general admission), UGX 2,000 (MTN MoMo Pay), and UGX 25,000 for VIP seating.
MTN Uganda, the official sponsor of the Masaza Cup, was represented at the announcement by Regional Marketing Manager Mr. Denis Harindimana. In attendance were several Kingdom ministers, including Owekitiibwa Yudaya Babirye (Kyabazinga Affairs), Amin Bbosa and Dan Musota (Sports), Mukembo James (Youth Affairs), and Ntange Andrew (Protocol), each expressing excitement about the Kingdom’s unifying initiatives.
The MTN Busoga Masaza Cup has generated camaraderie and competition throughout the Kingdom. Quarterfinal matches will be held on November 8 and 9, leading up to the grand final on December 15.
