Bugweri leaders clash over motorcycle
He argued that as the head of the sub-county, Muziransa should not interfere in his responsibilities.
Bugweri: As the 2026 elections draw nearer, tensions escalated in Bugweri District on October 17, 2024, between Ibulaku sub-county Chairman Ndhoga Ibrahim and District Chairman Shafiq Muziransa over a government motorcycle.
The dispute ignited during a memorial speech for community member Salayi Namusoba, where Muziransa accused Ndhoga of misusing the motorcycle, claiming he lent it to another individual for personal work.
Muziransa has given Ndhoga a 14-day ultimatum to return the motorcycle or face consequences.
In response, Ndhoga defended his position, stating that the motorcycle was assigned to him by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for official duties at the sub-county.
He argued that as the head of the sub-county, Muziransa should not interfere in his responsibilities.
Ndhoga also accused Muziransa of spreading false information in the community regarding a recent hospital fund of 80 million shillings, asserting that only a portion was contributed by political leaders, including 5 million from Nandala Mafabi and 3 million from others.
He called for transparency, emphasizing that the community deserves accurate information rather than deceit.
This conflict underscores the political tensions in Bugweri District as the upcoming elections approach, raising questions about leadership accountability and governance in local administration.
