Bishop Kahuma challenges Babwijwa clan members to champion unity

Masindi: The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Samuel Kahuma, has challenged the Ababwijwa clan members in Bunyoro to champion the gospel of unity and also to fight against poverty amongst them.
Kahuma, who is also a Mubwijwa by clan, made the call over the weekend during the Ababwijwa get-together, which was held at Jos Wamara’s home in Ntooma Village, Bwijanga, sub-county Masindi district, and was attended by clan members from across the region.
He said that when the Ababwijwa are economically empowered, disciplined, united, and God-loving, they will be able to rejoice in their families. ‘’If we are economically empowered, disciplined, united, and God-loving, we will be able to rejoice in their families,’’ he added.
The Bishop further advised the Ababwijwa elders to ensure that they inculcate good discipline among the young generation, which will help Ababwijwa portray a good image for the clan.
Speaking during the same meeting, Isaac Kiirya, the chairperson of the Ababwijwa clan, greater Masindi, called upon the Ababwijwa to join hands and ensure that the clan is registered with the district and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom like other clans have done.
Junior Wamara, also a Mubwijwa and a model farmer, encouraged his fellow clan mates to always come and make use of his modern farm to learn the best agricultural practices.
He further advised them to embrace improved varieties both in farming and rearing if they are to benefit faster from what they’re doing, adding that he is ready to welcome every Mubwijwa who is interested in learning at no cost.
Jos Wamara, a Mubwijwa who hosted the Ababwijwa at his home, commended the young generation for coming out aggressively to unite the clan members.
The members also confirmed the interim committee for greater Masindi, and the leaders include Isaac Kiirya as chairperson, Clare Wamara as vice chairperson, Tadeo Tumusiime as general secretary, Rita Wamara as treasurer, Komya Bernard Welfare, Yosam Gucwaki Publicity, Hebert Mugisa as chief mobilize, and Archangel Kyomya as advisor, among others.
