Their arrest

On October 15, 2024, the Inspectorate of Government arrested two officials from Arua City and a contractor for causing a financial loss of UGX 24,309,153 to the city.

The accused are Mr. Anthony Dradria, the Senior Civil Engineer, Mr. Sam B. Adriko, the Principal Treasurer, and Mr. Godfrey Adoroti, the Managing Director of Godmax Services Ltd. They allegedly inflated payments for the installation of 32 solar security lights on Oluko Road.

Between January 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023, the trio irregularly prepared a Certificate of Practical Completion for the solar lights, inflating costs by UGX 24,309,153. They requisitioned, received, and approved payment for the inflated amounts, knowing their actions would cause financial loss to Arua City.

On May 30, 2022, Mr. Dradria, in his capacity as Senior Civil Engineer, abused his office by preparing the inflated Certificate of Practical Completion for the project.
