Armed UPDF Major confiscates motorcycle from Terego Police Post

It remains unclear whether Major Fendezio has any legal ownership of the motorcycle.

Terego: Major Amakule Fendezio, a Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) officer in Terego District, is under scrutiny for reportedly storming Aii-Vu Police Post and forcefully taking a motorcycle kept there.

A statement from the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Collins Asea, indicates that the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at approximately 11:27 AM.

Major Fendezio, dressed in civilian attire and accompanied by armed individuals in a UPDF-registered vehicle, allegedly confiscated the motorcycle, which was involved in a prior accident case.

The matter has been recorded as aggravated robbery under CRB 028/2025.

SP Asea stated: “Terego CPS is investigating an incident involving allegations of aggravated robbery by a UPDF officer and others. Preliminary reports suggest Major Amakule Fendezio, accompanied by armed individuals, forcibly removed the motorcycle from the police post.”

It remains unclear whether Major Fendezio has any legal ownership of the motorcycle.

The police and UPDF are conducting a joint investigation into the incident to ensure justice is served.

SP Asea reassured the public: “We reaffirm our commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice and accountability. As investigations are ongoing, we urge the public to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to address the matter.”

The authorities have urged the public to remain patient as they work to resolve the case. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining proper conduct among security forces and respecting institutional procedures.
