Angry Bukedea siblings beat mother’s boyfriend to comma

However, sources say their father, Isaac Ogwang, is a teacher who is always stationed at his workplace.

Bukedea: Police in Bukedea district are hunting for the two brothers who beat their mother’s boyfriend to a comma in Akaramai village, Bukedea Sub County.

The duo who are in hiding have been identified as Andrew Ononge and Ivan Opio, both residents of the same area.

It’s reported that on March 21,  2024, one Opio found his mother, Melidah Asikeit, red-handed with her boyfriend, Joseph Omerikol, in his father’s house, and he started beating him before reporting to the area local council chairperson.

Ms. Harriet Kedi, the Akaramai LC1 chairperson, told this publication that Opio, after beating Omerikol, reported to her office, asking to be assisted.

“Opio came to my place, asking to be helped. He has got his mother red-handed with another man in his father’s house and bed. I took the effort to reach their home, but I was surprised to see that Omerikol is bleeding,”  said Ms. Kedi.

Ms. Kedi added that she immediately reported the matter to the GISO, who later connected the Bukedea central police station.

“When the police intervened, the two brothers both decided to take off, so we brought both their mother and the boyfriend to Bukedea Health Center III, but since the boyfriend’s condition was worse, he was referred to Mbale Main Hospital,”  added Kedi.

Mr. Michael Opolot, the Bukedea subcounty chairperson, said it’s shameful for such things to happen in his area.

“I am just speechless; this kind of thing is happening for the first time in my area,”  said Mr. Opolot.

Richard Asiimwe, the Bukedea district police commander, told this publication on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, that a general inquiry file was opened and police are seriously on the hunt for the victims.

“We opened the case of aggravated assault, and we are seriously searching for the victims,”  said Mr. Asiimwe.

However, sources say their father, Isaac Ogwang, is a teacher who is always stationed at his workplace.
