Alur King visits Bunyoro Kingdom, fosters unity and cooperation

Bunyoro: The King of Alur Kingdom, His Highness Ubimu Phillip Olarker Rauni III,, paid a visit to the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, and the visit has been aimed to strengthen the unity and cooperation between the two kingdoms.
Vincent Opio Alpher, Chairperson Alur Community, and also the vice chairman of LCV Kikuube District, disclosed that the king’s visit to Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom is a significant milestone for the Alur community staying in Bunyoro.
Opio says they are grateful for the king’s hospitality and care towards his subjects staying in Bunyoro, and as chairperson of the Alur community, he is pleased to see their king engaging with the subjects and addressing their concerns.
He, however, requested Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom to elect an Alur who will represent the Alur community in the cabinet of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
Evas Munguryek, Female Workers Councilor District, expressed happiness to have met her king for the first time, and I appreciate his visit to Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
Munguryek says that as a councilor, she is committed to serving the community and believes that this visit will strengthen the relationship between Alur Kingdom and Bunyoro Kingdom.
She appealed to other tribes staying in Bunyoro to respect the indigenous people and Bunyoro culture and also intermarry with the Alur to foster unity and cooperation.
Geoffrey Komakech, councilor for Buseruka subcounty, says the other reason why the king has visited is also to constitute a small committee that will work hand in hand with Bunyoro kitara kingdom and also in problem solving between the two kingdoms.
Andrew Byakutaga, Prime Minister, Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, said they are honored to have hosted the King of Alur Kingdom, His Highness Ubimu Phillip Olarker Rauni III,.
Byakutaga says the visit demonstrates the strong bond between the kingdoms, adding that the two kingdoms have a historical background, thus their commitment to unity and cooperation.
He disclosed that they are eager to work together to address any challenges that may arise and ensure the well-being of all their subjects.

He says as kings they are supposed to promote culture and provide a platform for the subjects to develop, adding that he sees the king of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, His Royal Highness Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, as his elder brother with whom they can work together.
