Alur King calls for unity, hard work, and development in 2025

The King concluded his address with heartfelt holiday greetings, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year 2025.

Nebbi: His Majesty Ubimu Phillip Rauni Ularker III, the Alur King, has called upon his subjects to embrace unity, preserve their cultural heritage, and prioritize development as they move into 2025.

In a press release issued by the Kingdom’s Communication Director, David Rupiny, the King urged all Alur people to showcase the richness of Alur culture and traditions in their daily lives, setting a positive example for others.

Ubimu Rauni III emphasized the importance of improving household livelihoods and working collectively to develop Alur land. On land matters, he cautioned against the rampant and unnecessary sale of communal land.

“Land is a very important factor of development, and everyone should use it productively to fight poverty and spur development,” the King stated.

He urged his people to safeguard their land and ensure it is passed down to future generations, warning that mishandling land could lead to widespread landlessness.

The Alur King highlighted the critical need to protect the environment, urging his people to avoid destructive practices like burning vegetation, cutting trees, degrading wetlands, and polluting the environment. He stressed that environmental protection is essential in combating climate change and preserving resources for future generations.

Ubimu Rauni III appealed to young people to engage in positive, productive activities and reassured them of the Kingdom’s continued support through sporting and development initiatives. He also called for the respect of the rights of vulnerable groups, including children, women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other marginalized populations.

The King underscored the importance of education, particularly for the girl-child, as a key driver of community development and empowerment.

Expressing his condolences to those who have lost loved ones or are facing challenges, Ubimu Rauni III conveyed a message of solidarity and hope.

“We stand with all those going through different life challenges,” he said.

The King concluded his address with heartfelt holiday greetings, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year 2025.
