Mulatsi Secondary School takes steps to expand infrastructure with key donation
The estimated cost of the four-classroom block is 180 million shillings.
Mbale: Mulatsi Secondary School in Mbale has made a significant leap toward addressing its growing infrastructure needs. Mr. Dismas Wandulu Samuel, headteacher of Nyondo Secondary School, has donated 30 bags of cement, fulfilling a promise he made at the school’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“I am thrilled to support Mulatsi Secondary School’s growth,” said Mr. Samuel. “As educators, our primary role is to create a conducive environment for learning. I encourage others to contribute to this worthy cause.”
The donation was gratefully received by Mr. Samanya Peter, headteacher of Mulatsi Secondary School. “This generous gesture is a major milestone in our journey to construct a four-classroom block,” he said. “We appreciate the unwavering commitment from our community members like Mr. Samuel.”
Under the leadership of Mr. Peter, Mulatsi Secondary School’s enrollment has grown from 400 to 900 students. The surge in enrollment has strained the school’s infrastructure, making the construction of new classrooms a necessity.
The estimated cost of the four-classroom block is 180 million shillings. The project promises to: alleviate overcrowding, improve the learning environment, enhance academic performance, provide better teacher-student ratio.s
To complete the project, the school seeks additional contributions, including: trucks for material transportation, sand for construction, timbers for building and roofing, skilled labor, including carpenters and masons, other materials, such as roofing sheets, doors, and windows.
The new classrooms will transform the educational experience for over 900 students, enabling better academic outcomes and contributing to local development.
