Minister Ogwang faces strong challenge from Mulalu in Ngariam County parliamentary seat

His optimism that the rivalry between the two candidates would be a healthy one, hoping for a vibrant and peaceful campaign process.

Ngariam: The 2026 parliamentary elections are shaping up to be a thrilling contest, especially in Ngariam County, where State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang is facing a formidable challenge from Kazi Ni Kazi Foundation director Dan Mulalu.

Jorem Obukui, Ogwang’s political coordinator and LCIII Chairperson for Akoboi Sub County, recently praised Mulalu for setting a competitive stage, acknowledging that his entry has intensified the competition for the seat.

Obukui expressed this during the St. Francis Day celebrated at Alukucok Catholic Church on Sunday afternoon.

Obukui’s optimism that the rivalry between the two candidates would be a healthy one, hoping for a vibrant and peaceful campaign process.

Mulalu has strong ground in Ngariam County, and his commitment to a peaceful campaign is reassuring, Obukui said.

He emphasized his focus on ideas and solutions that will uplift the people of Ngariam rather than causing chaos.

This pledge is crucial, given the history of electoral irregularities and violence in the region.

Both Ogwang and Mulalu are positioning themselves as key contenders, with Ogwang’s leadership and contributions to the sports sector being major strengths.

However, Mulalu’s socio-economic transformation agenda, which includes improving household incomes, improving the education department, security, and agricultural development, resonates with many voters.

Obukui urged both candidates to maintain peace and avoid hostility, emphasizing the importance of respect, calm, and integrity in the democratic process.

With the elections fast approaching, the race for the Ngariam County parliamentary seat is expected to draw significant attention.
