Mulatsi SS head teacher lauded for transforming school

Founded in the early 1980s, Mulatsi Secondary School is a community-based institution in Bukiende Subcounty, Mbale District, Eastern Uganda.

Mbale: Parents of Mulatsi Secondary School in Mbale have lauded the head teacher, Mr. Samanya Peter, for transforming the school.

He was lauded during the school’s annual general meeting held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the school premises.

The meeting was also attended by dignitaries and officials from the Ministry of Education.

The meeting marked a significant milestone, reintroducing accountability and transparency between parents and the school after a five-year hiatus.

Mr. Samanya Peter, the new headteacher, received thunderous applause for his remarkable achievements in just two terms.

“We are thrilled with the progress made under Mr. Samanya’s leadership,” said Jane Nambafu, a parent. “He has brought new energy and vision to the school.”

Since assuming office, Mr. Samanya has increased student enrollment from 400 to 900, significantly improving academic performance. “Our school’s transformation is a testament to teamwork and dedication,” Mr. Samanya said. “We’re committed to providing quality education and empowering our students for success.”

The Mbale district education officer, Musungu Lydia, praised Mr. Samanya’s tireless efforts, urging parents to support the school’s programs. “Mr. Samanya’s leadership has revitalized our education sector. Let’s work together to uplift regional academics.”

Assistant Commissioner in charge of secondary schools, Mr. Musingo Moses, emphasized parental cooperation with school management. “Collaboration is key to excellent performance. Let’s foster a supportive environment for our children to thrive.”

A key highlight was the launch of a 180-million-shilling foundation for a four-block classroom project. “This expansion will enhance learning facilities and accommodate our growing student population,” Mr. Samanya explained.

PTA-School Management Collaboration: Successful accountability and transparency in student contributions.

Regional Academic Excellence: Mulatsi Secondary School’s resurgence is contributing to improved regional academic performance.

“We’re grateful for the support and commitment from parents, teachers, and the community,” Mr. Samanya said. “Together, we’ll make Mulatsi Secondary School a beacon of excellence.”
