Police investigate three murders in Bunyoro
He says they have so far arrested three suspects to aid in investigations.
Hoima: Police in the Albertine region are investigating the circumstances under which three people were murdered over the weekend.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, said the trio were murdered in different parts of the region.
Hakiza told journalists on Monday that they are investigating the circumstances under which Tonesta Nsegivumbe, 25, was murdered.
The deceased was a resident of Rutoma village, Rutoma Parish, Kakumiro district.
It is alleged that Tonesta was murdered by a family only identified as Habasa, accusing him of stealing chicken.
Hakiza says they have so far arrested three suspects to aid in investigations.
Another deceased person, only identified as Young, was murdered on Friday night at Kalyabuhire Southern Cell East Division in Hoima City, and they are still stuck with the body. The regional police mouthpiece said the suspects are still at large.
Hakiza asserts that the third case they are investigating is the murder of Annet Asiimwe, a resident of Kasongoire Village, Budongo Sub County, Masindi district.
The police officer said they have so far arrested one person in connection with the murder of Asiimwe to aid in investigations.
He says it is alleged that Annet was murdered by one of her relatives over land issues.
