Queen Alobo champions education and menstrual health in West Nile
Building on this momentum, she introduced the "Pad a Girl Child" campaign in 2024 to address the critical issue of menstrual health and stigma.

Zombo: In a bid to tackle the pressing challenges facing education in West Nile, Queen Patricia Alobo has embarked on a remarkable mission to empower students and promote inclusive learning.
Through her transformative “Stay in School” and “Pad a Girl Child” campaigns, she is reshaping the education landscape in the region.
Launched in 2023, the “Stay in School” campaign has already made a significant impact, reaching schools in Zombo, Nebbi, and Packwach districts. By providing students with crucial knowledge, mentorship, and guidance, Miss Alobo aims to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to overcome barriers to education.
Building on this momentum, she introduced the “Pad a Girl Child” campaign in 2024 to address the critical issue of menstrual health and stigma.
Through period talks, skills training, and the provision of menstrual products, the initiative ensures that girls no longer miss school due to menstruation.
Schools that have benefited so far include Pakadha Seed School, Oringi Secondary School, St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Ogenda Girls Secondary School, Warr Girls Secondary School, and Aluka Secondary School.
Miss Alobo emphasizes that her mission is to ensure every student understands the value of education and receives the support they need to complete their studies.
With a vision to expand both campaigns across West Nile, Miss Alobo has scheduled upcoming events in Moyo and Adjumani districts. Additionally, the highly anticipated Arua City Pad a Girl Child Run in May 2025 aims to raise awareness and mobilize funds to support girls’ menstrual health and education.
Her tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. She has passionately called on organizations, NGOs, businesses, and leaders to support her initiative, highlighting that education is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
Miss Alobo urges leaders to prioritize education by improving school infrastructure, ensuring a clean learning environment, and providing adequate learning materials.
Despite these strides, many schools in West Nile still lack basic facilities. In Liria Primary School, Terego District, for instance, pupils continue to sit on the floor due to inadequate resources. Such shocking realities underscore the urgency of Miss Alobo’s mission.
As Queen Patricia Alobo continues to champion the cause of education in West Nile, her dedication and perseverance serve as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.
