Masindi: Ninety-six police recruits are under investigation after allegedly presenting forged academic documents in an attempt to gain admission into the Police Training School in Kabalye Cell, Karujubu Division, Masindi Municipality.
The arrests were made on Monday, August 11, 2025, following a verification exercise by the recruitment team.
ACP Damalie Nachuha, the Regional Police Commander for Albertine North, confirmed the incident, noting that the suspects deliberately altered their Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) academic transcripts to meet the entry requirements.
“During this process, 96 recruits were found to have forged academic documents. They were immediately handed over to the commandant of PTS Kabalye, who then referred the matter to Masindi Police Station for further investigations,” ACP Nachuha said.
The case has been registered under reference MSD GEF: 46/2025. Statements have been recorded from all the suspects, and the alleged forged documents have been submitted to the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations (OC CID) for detailed scrutiny.
ACP Nachuha cautioned the public against using forged documents to gain entry into the police force, stressing that such actions undermine the integrity of the recruitment process and deny opportunities to deserving candidates.
